It'z not only the rifts but the 60/70'ish instrumentation, style of singing, the pauses, and stretched out words - all classic James Bond theme hallmarks (esp with movie intros). I suppose given older 007's fascination with water and remote islands, its use is quite fitting.
Somehow, this is the song I am enjoying the most but I am wondering if there is any co-relation between this and an earlier rumor about Rahman doing next James Bond movie's score..
