It may sound like a scene straight from a swimsuit calendar but it’s actually a song from one of the most promising films this Diwali- ‘Blue’. ‘Blue’ is an underwater action adventure film whose theme song is currently on-air giving us a glimpse of all that we’ve been waiting to see in this film. Shot in the breathtaking seas of the Bahamas, the ‘Blue’ theme song is picturised on Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan. The song opens with the men folk going full throttle with their beach toys- ripping through the waves, diving for the ocean floor and even doing somersaults on water! And then it takes you deep under the blue waters where the stars are actually playing with sea turtles, stingrays and lobsters while exploring the magnificent underwater flora and fauna. Apparently all the 4 stars had to take extensive training, as it involved a lot of free diving as can be seen in the video. Talking about the challenges of shooting underwater, Director Anthony D’Souza says, “It is certainly a huge challenge due to several reasons. Firstly, we can only communicate through sign language, which was quite challenging! Secondly, you need to find the best possible spot with all the beautiful creatures around, and then there is limited control over the lighting. We were able to achieve this feat all thanks to our expert cinematographers and the enthusiasm and dedication of our stars!” The underwater jet scooters are actually Sea Bobs, termed as the ultimate machines for exploring the thrills and action in the endless underwater world. A source from the production team informs that they were imported especially from Germany where they are made faster, leaner and uber-macho. Interestingly, most of the video itself was shot impromptu where the stars were asked to have some fun under the blue, while the cameras could capture some of their candid moments with the beautiful creatures. And one thing that’ll surely catch your fancy is when the gorgeous Lara Dutta, sizzling in the pink bikini, beautifully slithers through bubble rings. Anthony explains, “While we were doing our research on dolphins for another song, we learnt that some dolphins actually play by releasing bubbles in the form of rings that keep increasing in size due to the water pressure. We got the idea from here and simply adapted it to the actors who had a blast with it." Capturing all the beauty and excitement of the life under the seas, this brilliant song is a prelude to the dangerous thrills that will lure you into the dark depths of the ocean abounding with mysterious secrets. With a dream cast of Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Rahul Dev and Katrina Kaif, this underwater action thriller directed by Anthony D’Souza and produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. will set your pulses racing this Diwali!
