Hey..I would like to comment on this post by Krishna. I would like to say that Rahman's music in his earlier days was different from what it is now...Times have changed, and with it technology has changed too..Rahman is known to use latest instruments and programming in his music, hence this change...I dont think the 'real' rahman has gone anywhere...hes right here..but just that he has evolved and advanced his music...
Of course, whether u like his songs or not is ur individual opinion. As far as Yuvraaj is concerned..I dont think it was a colossal disaster, just that it did not live upto people's expectations...It has some good songs and did display Rahman in some sort of form.. The proof that Rahman still has that brilliance existing in him can be seen in Delhi 6. The song 'Rehna Tu', is proof that Rahman is right here...that one song is the only one which has left me spellbound, mesmerized and awestruck .The song has depth, style, and class all combined in what has turned out to be the most scintillating song of the year so far...and i am not exaggerating guys...we must give a bow to Rahman simply for having composed a song so rich in melody that we simply cannot imagine. Ppl have talked about the programming in Blue...well guys check out the programming here...it beats everything else flat out.Period. Also, just one more thing. The younger generation of today no longer buys Cd's or Albums...it uses i-pod and digital electronic media. I myself have not bought a CD for the last 3 years or more. The point of this mail was to say that Rahman is still very much here and has not lost any of his 'touch' which he used to have in the earlier days. Anish.
