Gosh, I haven't realized how long it's been since I've last came
here. Been a tad too busy with work hence the absence.

While work have prevented me from coming over here from time to time,
another reason why I chose to keep myself away was because of Blue…I
knew that many here would have reviewed as well as judged the album to
its very finest tune therefore I didn't want to be influenced by the
reviews before listening to the tunes myself.

Now that I've been energized by the constant hearing of the tunes,
here I am with my views on the album.

Aaj Dil

A cool and suave song! Right from the Oh Yaasa Maa Yaasa (by the chorus)
to the sa sa sa sa by Shreya at the end, the song executes a stylish
performance. It's a relief to hear Sukhwinder on a cooler tone and
Shreya Ghosal…all I can say is that she rocked all the way! The
sweetness in her voice is coupled with a new-found sexiness. I'm not
kidding but hearing to this song, you can almost feeling the breeze
brushing against your face…the very same breeze which sweeps across
you face while driving through the mountains. A cool song-literally!

Bhola Thuje

Rashid Ali at his best! Though a sad song, it doesn't actually sound
like one…akin to New York Nagaram of SOK or Nahin Samne of Taal (the
feel not the tune)…one which brings upon a good feeling to the
listeners, the humming and the string instruments at the end sounds
enchanting!

Chiggy Wiggy

Kylie's cheeky voice moulds well with the equally naughty lyrics.
The way she goes I wanna chiggy wiggy with you ah ah, baby! Too cute
[;)] There's a freshness in this song, which I can't really put
into words…and the transformation from the western to the bhangra
was so dramatic but I was pleasantly surprise to find that both the
western music and bhangra blends awfully well here. This song is sure to
rock Bollywood for a long time to come!

Fiqrana

Farhan Akhtar's loss is Vijay prakash's gain! And Vijay has not
wasted the given opportunity. The song truly belongs to him. The
instrument used in the first interlude, not sure what it is but they
just sounded hyper cool! There is a high-speed non-stop track in the
song which is so captivating to hear…Vijay sound so much like ARR on
the second verse or is it just my imagination? Shreya did her part very
well despite getting a smaller part here.

Rehnuma

Seeing Shreya ghosal's name on the credits, I thought that it's
going to be either a soft love song or a fast beat folk number. Little
did I expect the sudden reformation on her style of singing! The
jazz-like start was so refreshing that you can almost feel yourself
moving to the slow sexy tune…until the Kaatil aada comes! You then
find yourself transformed into a new world…and when Sonu Nigam comes
with Rehnuma, you just had to know that this is one number to watch out
for! The string instrument on the first interlude is amazing! While
Vijay had Fiqrana to his credit, Shreya had a winner in Rehnuma!

Yaar Mila Tha

Udit Narayan is always a favourite of ARR, and you will know why through
this song. He has a natural flair for folk songs and this one is no
exeception. Madhushree seems to have done her part well but her style of
singing here reminds me so much of Alka Yagnik. The way she weaves her
voice through the music is remarkably sweet and cute. Though the number
seems to out of place among all the other stylish numbers, yet it's
a sweet little song which never seems to be all wrong.

Blue Theme

ROCKING in capital! The starting music may remind you of Dhol Dhol from
Ayuthe Ezhuthu/Yuva. The tempo zooms in a fast pace and goes on rocking
all the way through the chants of Blue. The Punjabi lyrics gives an
added boost to the whole theme. But if you think that ARR will remain at
this pace, then you are definitely wrong! Brace yourself for the final
40 seconds as ARR brings you on a roller coaster ride with his music
arrangements. Definitely a theme one has never heard before!

In short, Blue seems to be too great for words! Some might say that
it's not ARR's best work. Well, they said the same about Slumdog
Millionaire and see what SDM has fetched him! ;)

Blue is one of its kind album. You can never compare it with any other
albums because there's nothing like it. All you can do is sit back
and savor every magical tune of it!
