Hey Guys, First and foremost, i never even knew about this movie, or the fact that the soundtrack was by Rahman, until I read some posts about it on this forum. Also, although members have been talking abt this soundtrack for quite a while now, I heard it only this morning...and i will continue listening again for some more time.
Ok this album has too many songs..so im not gonna write abt each one ..coz im pressed for time... Couples retreat is a must listen album. The songs have the typical Rahman feel to them. Its got his signature strokes and touches which are evident is several of the songs. Rahmans's instrumentation and use of the orchestra are superb here. The songs have plenty of depth and are brilliant in their own way, conveying various moods and styles with excellence. I may have been amongst those to pan his earlier 'Blue', but not the case with Couple's Retreat.Rahman uses his superior composing skills to produce breathtakingly beautiful as well as stunning sounds for Couples Retreat. I am really impressed with Couples Retreat, and in my opinion epitomizes the essence of a true Rahman soundtrack. My fav songs here are Sajna re, Tour of the Villas ( Amazing), Meeting Marcel, Salvador, Animal Spirits. rating: ****
