Chennai, Oct 6 (PTI) Musician A R Rahman will inaugurate a film festival centring around the issues related to physically disabled people, beginning here on October 12.
Aamir-Khan directed 'Taare Zameen Par', depicting the tribulations of a dyslexic boy, will be screened with audio description for the visually impaired audience at the AbilityFest 2009, organisers, the Ability Foundation, said today. Audio description is the pre-recorded narrative which describes the in-between dialogue parts of the film for the benefit of the visually impaired persons. The four-day-long event will be declared open by Oscar-winning music director Rahman in the presence of actress Tabu, Kanimozhi MP and US Consul General Andrew T Simkin, Jayashree Raveendran, Executive Director of Ability Foundation and Festival Chairperson, told reporters here.
