Live sound is a different ball game. You have too many variables. You also need different set of skills for mixing live. Unless the organizers invest in good full range line arrays, mixing console and take time to study the acoustics of location well before hand, there will be very less improvement.
Secondly, if you expect typical AR sound (which i presume you mean, the stereo image, fx and frequency distribution) live, you will be in for disappointment. Song are mixed in a well controlled studio environment with revisions and methods to undo, which of course is totally opposite of what you can do live. Even if live sound reinforcement technology catches up, location acoustics will be a party pooper. Just before SFO concert last year, Sridhar sir (RIP) mentioned how much he hated mixing live sound. (That was our last face to face conversation :( ) All said, bad sound is not acceptable and you guys should let event organizers know about it. :: Bharath http://singingphotons.net On Tue, Oct 13, 2009 at 10:37 AM, fani kalyan <[email protected]>wrote: > > > He didn't mention sound..just said mistakes. > > --- On *Tue, 10/13/09, Arun KB Ganesh <[email protected]>* wrote: > > > From: Arun KB Ganesh <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [arr] ARR Concerts and the Importance of "SOUND" ! > To: [email protected] > Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2009, 12:21 PM > > > > > Since AR himself has acknowledged the bad sound quality ..
