Hi See we all are here just coz arrahman is poles apart from any other composer and his music is universal right?
We are all least bothered about whether the Movie is a hit or flop, our concern is only arr Music I do accept music grows on listeners slowly, it happed in the past with all of us in cases like (RDB,JTYJN, etc.. as once private taste) but this isn't the case when it comes to arrahman, almost all of his songs were heart touching in the first go itself. Let me make it simple, the standard that arr has set for music and for him self is the key factor here, expectations that every music lover has on his music is something we can define, we see ppl reaction when the new releases meet their expectations. About BLUE like somebody said, The SOUND is pretty much like the contemporary BOLLYWOOD sound..of VISHAL SEKHAR or SHANKAR EHSAAN LOY!!! It's absolutely right, best example is kylie minogue song(somebody already discussed this in the group, fails to match expectations). See the song in LOVE BIRDS (arr-apache Indian), when I saw the news on arr-apache Indian song in love birds I was very existed and arr did his part song matched expectations. All I wanted to say here.. I found Very good blog on what we are discussing, I dunno how many of you guys agree with this, its 101% correct.
