Hi All,
I want to share my thoughts on the hyd concert... being a huge fan of rahman
myself i feel a bit guilty to admit that this was my first concert...
I must also admit that after this concert i felt both disappointed and happy:
Misses:
* All through the concert I felt that this was a Team B of rahman
performing, with no frontline singers like Hariharan, SPB, Udit Narayan, Sonu
Nigam etc and missed some of the all time great hits which rahman created
* The parking facility was horrible (though it was out of rahman's
scope, but well within the scope of the organisers). I had to park my car about
2.5 kms from the venue and take a bus arranged by the organisers, with ppl
jostling with each other to get onto the bus which was already crammed
* The lighting on the approach road to the concert was very bad
* The sitting arrangement was not good too, I feel that the stage could
have been built on a higher ground, cos people had to clamor for a higher
ground to have a look at the stage. Some even put together a number of chairs
on each other to get a better view, this blocked the view of the people sitting
behind and resulting in arguments with the security personnel
* I had to spend a lot of time of the concert looking for a better
place to sit to get a good view and experience the sound (changed 4 places)
* There was no facility to get drinking water at the parking lot and we
were left high and dry before and after the show
* Even before going to the show I wished O Saya to be performed (I've
always felt that this song deserved the oscar than Jai Ho)
Hits
* The opening was awesome
* It was rahman's show all the way, with all him performing most of the
songs... felt good
* Rehna Tu by rahman was simply superb
* Humma Humma, Mustafa Mustafa were too good, should have seen the
crowds swaying !!
* Songs I had wished that could be to be played once again -
Jiya Se
Jiya, Liquid Dance, Ringa Ringa, Kehne Ko Jashn Bahaare Hai (whole in hindi),
Rehna Tu, Taxi
Taxi, Jai Ho
* The fireworks at the end of the show was a treat to the eye, but it
had a bad timing when Jai Ho and Maa Tujhe Salaam were being performed. The
sounds and the lights of the fireworks was a distraction from these two great
songs
* The huge screen in the backdrop of the stage was spell binding with
its crystal clear clarity and high contrast... really awesome
* Blazee and Suzanne amazed me with their sheer energy, they brought
the crowd onto their feet
All in all, the concert was great and I enjoyed it a lot, won't forget this
(first) concert ever !!
Finally, the songs that I missed at the concert, Bombay Theme, Rubaroo,
Paatshala (RDB), Chanda re (Sapnay), Yeh jo des hai tera (swades), Ishq Bina
(taal), Dil ka Rishta (Yuvvraaj), Maaro Maaro (Boys), Chikbuk Raile
(Gentleman), New York Nagaram (SOK), Mukkala Muqabala (Premikudu, kadhalan),
Pachadanamey, Saathiya (Sakhi, saathiya)
