Mumbai: Three years after its release, most of Mumbai is still grooving to the remix of the song 'Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai' at night clubs. The credit goes to DJ A-myth -- the proud creator of the song who has remixed many other famous numbers for people such as AR Rahman and Aamir Khan. DNA Breaking myths: DJ A-Myth So what's the big deal about remixing songs? "People always think that remixing a song is very easy because you are not creating anything original. The fact is that it may not be an original song, but we are still creating original music. It is much more challenging to work on a song that is already a hit and make it famous all over again. The job of the DJ is to catch the pulse of the people and make them groove," says A-myth. A-myth has been DJing since his college days in 1994. He believes that DJs are still not regarded as artistes in India, like other developed countries, because there is not much of pub culture in India. He says, "I remember a time in the mid 90s when only the elite class of Mumbai used to party. I was playing at this club where Shah Rukh had come with Gauri. As soon as I played my remix version of the song Aint Nobody, he simply pulled Gauri on the floor and started dancing. I was glad to see them groove to my beats. It is only in the last 10 years that people have really started partying. The future looks good with many pubs springing up in various small towns too." He recently remixed a song for the Aamir Kahn's latest movie which didn't work out well the first time. "Aamir was involved with theremix of the song. I got really nervous since he is a big star, so it didn't sound right at all the first time around. The thing is, if we as DJs thought as music directors then we would never be able to create remixes.I avoided that and only concentrated on what I wanted to create the second time around. It was good to see everyone including Aamir jump with joy," he ends. http://www.dnaindia.com/entertainment/report_dj-a-myth-breaks-myths-about-remixed-songs_1324373 -- regards, Vithur
