Karthik,

Madhavan's mail was not about just the quality of the songs (so VTV does yet count) but more a 360 degree perspective of an album - how the songs fit into the flow of the movie, the importance given to the songs in the movie and the way they have been picturised. I too think that JA had every thing in it and probably the best in recent times (it's been a while since Mani sir movie released ;) and I haven't seen D6).

Jodha Akbar I think, but my personal favourit in the last couple of years is D6. VTV is a close second

It is the one album in the recent times that took away the hearts of
both music lovers and movie lovers. Each song had a purpose and it was
a visual treat in the big screen as well. Whenever you listen to this
album, you would never skip any song. You feel all songs are soulful.
After listening to so many albums from AR, you still feel this is the
only album in the recent times that stand out to be a perfect one! One
of the classic example for the upcoming film makers to use the best
out of a composer! Epic, yet modern!

And you know what album I'm talking about. Don't you?
