Double Oscar-winner AR Rahman, who was a member of the jury at this year’s
Academy Awards, says it was a great honour for him to represent his country
again.

“I see me being a jury member as an Indian being a jury member. So, it is
definitely a matter of great pride to be representing my country at the Oscars
and not as someone who was competing to win an award. I see all this coming
because of Slumdog Millionaire and I’m very happy that the film did so well. It
was a very special project to all of us — Danny (Boyle), the kids, Dev (Patel),
Freida (Pinto),” Rahman told DNA.

“Being a jury member is a very tough job. I hate to compare the work of
different people as I feel everyone who has produced something creative has
done it with all his/her heart and soul. It is not right to dissect their work
and say who is better and who is not. But awards will have some who will win
and some who won’t on that given day. But for me people who have created things
are all winners,” he ends.
