A nice mention by Rivjot bro..! Not so long ago...with due respects, Usha Uthap sang the original "Vandeeeee Mataram" in her own style..there wasn't any hoopla and cry about it..! And i don't understand why some of the veterans who have been soo successful in their hey days fail to whole heartedly accept the next gen Icons..??!!! I'm sure Manna Saab wouldn't be speaking his heart in the interview..since AR doesn't rest without touching the hearts of the people..!!! Manna Saab...you ought to speak from your heart!!!!

By the way, there is Vande Mataram by Usha Utthup as well (in movie Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham, lyrics by Bankim Chandar Chatterjee) and she also sings like 'Vandeeeeeeeeeeee Mataram' 100% agree with your last statement - 'The old composers have done some great work, but they didnt come in outright praise of rahman in public..which is sad!' --- In arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com, wiredbeats <wiredbeats@ ...> wrote: > > all these guys...i mean ALL OF THEM.. miss an important point..Rahman did'nt > sing Vande Mataram of Bankim Chandra chaterjee .
