Chord, why do you feel that? Both Karthik (Ghajini) and Vijay (Yuvraaj) have sung for his hindi soundtracks before. Having said that, Karthik sang the tamil version for Jodha Akbar. I for one am a bit cautious about that article on Asha Bhosle singing for Raavan.
