I do a mix of Approach 1 and 3

1) Listen to the whole album at a stretch, get myself lost, finally tell myself
"Get Lost", listen to whole album once more and give it up

2) Next day morning, i tend to listen to the song which attracted me most and
starts to here it out (like a lost child who atlast found where to start from)

3) But on the contrary, i make it a point not to loose sight of the other
songs, i listen to it also coz of my belief that surely its gonna overwhelm me
at the end.. that's our Little Master na?? ;-) ;-)

Friends,

It is that time when a new album from our boss is releasing. Makes me get into
a reflective mood in terms of how do I listen to a new album from ARR. I
primarily can think of 3 approaches/patterns under which I listen to a new
album. Let me know what you guys think.

Approach 1: Take the album listen to all the songs at one stretch and then
repeat the same process. Advantage I found of this is that you listen to all
the songs at one shot, but disadvantage is that first 2-3 times I feel
completely lost. I follow this pattern a lot.

Approach 2: Take one song at a time, listen to it a few times and then only
move to the next song. This I rarely follow. Advantage is, it helps you
internalize one song at a time. But disadvantage is it takes lot of patience
and effort !

Approach 3: Listen to entire album once, pick the ones that stand out right
away and stray towards them. I find this most suitable approach and I easily
follow this path. But, downside is that I naturally tend to neglect some songs
and never truly enjoy them unless I revisit the album later. This is most
preferred approach for me.

So guys, what do you think ? I am curious to know how others do this.

Ram
