Raavan - the concept was going to be in Hindi only initially, I read somewhere. The tamil version was something that Mani thought of slightly after. So I see why the emphasis is on the former. Also, don't agree that they need to make the tamil version more special because they both hail from there. One's loyalty is not some sort of exhibit where you need to show it by making one version superior than the other. Mani and AR have constantly shown the South the respect it deserves ad more so lets not make this an issue of loyalty.
I was only surprised (and of course disappointed) that both versions weren't exposed to the same marketing values - not any more; not any less. And also we need to appreciate the amount of work that can go into a bi-lingual like this - it must be Huge! Mani usually has song promos for his tamil movies and then a teaser. Hope they are on their way. I still have a feeling that Sify (however reputable it is) gets the wrong story sometimes so hoping we still have an audio launch in Chennai. Please. ________________________________ From: vimaljk <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Fri, 30 April, 2010 16:29:34 Subject: Re: [arr] Raavanan audio on May 5 I completely agree. Plus, Mani and Rahman hail from the Tamil film industry.... .Also, Vikram is a MUCH better actor that Abhishek (not saying that Abhi is bad but Vikram is probably one of the top 5 in the country)...this clearly reeks of one version being favored over the other....also i find it offensive that the Hindi version is the only one being prepped to screen at Cannes.....but it could be the decision of the producers (Reliance).. ... --- In arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com, Indmov Buff <indmovbuff@ ...> wrote: > > I hope this isn't true.
