I don't think it's just about familiarity and exposure...there are distinctly different regional tastes, modes, sounds and styles in both soundtracks as well, so some may prefer one over the other, which is fine. To say one version is better than the other is PURELY based on one's preference and taste with exposure and familiarity not adding much to that. If the Tamil version appeared first, my opinions would be the same.
