Hi,

Vairamuthu is always at his best when he need to write lyrics for rural
subject. Vairamuthu+ARR+Bharathiraaja combination helped us to bear
Vairamuthu's rustic lyrics in ARR's music. Karuthamma, Kizhakku Seemayile and
Tajmahal are some good examples.

Mani might have chosen Vairamuthu for penning all the songs for the same reason
in Ravaanan and he has done enough justification to it. His lyrics with ARR's
music reminds me of their magic in the above said movies. 'Kodu potta' reminds
me of the 'Thirupaachi aruvaala' in Tajmahal as both falls in the same genre
(bravery). 'Kaadu potta kaadu' in karuthamma one his best lyrics to show the
drought situation in which a family lives with hope.

When I first listened Ravaanana after repeated hearing of Raavan, I felt very
odd. But after hearing it few more times, I started loving the songs and able
to appreciate it because of the lyrics. Since I dont know Hindi, I am not able
to appreciate Gulzaar's lyrics. Feeling very bad for it.

I too felt Anuradha's voice to be totally mismatching after hearing Ranjha
Ranjh but slowly got attracted towards the song.
