ARR's trysts with Raag Bhairavi:

1. Spirit of Rangeela
2. Margazhi Thingal (Sangamam) - His best ever Bhairavi.
3. Sabaq Aisa - Tehzeeb
4. Jiya Jale - Dil Se (it is a mishra... but the ending gets into total
Bhairavi aalaap)
5. Rang De - Meenaxi
6. Man Mohana - Jodha Akbar
7. Thok De Killi - Raavan (has shades of it)
8. Behne De - Raavan
9. Engae enathu kavithai - Kandukondein Kandukondein.. It is Sindhu Bhairavi
(Carnatic-ized Bhairavi)
10. Khamoshiyaan gungunaane - 1-2-ka-4
11. Mera Rang De Basanthi Chola - The Legend of Bhagat Singh
12. Rang De Basanthi - Rang De Basanti

I could think of only these at this moment. I might be missing few more. But
yes, I have observed that Bhairavi seems to be his favourite raaga.

Aakarsh

It was a nice, pleasant surprise to hear shades of Raaga Bhairavi in
Raavan's/Raavanan' s music. Which other ARR songs from the past have used
Raaga Bhairavi, for those of you who know raagas?

A few come to mind:

- Parts of Man Mohanna from JA, esp. the intro string interlude and flute
interludes

 - Sabaq Aisa from Tehzeeb, used heavily here

 - The choruses of Taal Se Taal Mila (the Antara is in Kirwani)

I don't know of any Bhairavi songs in Tamil, but I may be mistaken. Anyone
want to add to this list, if you can think of some?
