Hi All,
I don't think there is any technical/musical issue here.
I guess, ARR likes soft voice and he likes the way 'Behne De' has been sung. 
Benny, Naresh, Vijay, Jaaved, Mauhit and all the latest singers he has used 
have a soft voice and they are continuously getting ARR songs. That proves it. 
Also, ARR mentioned somewhere that he would have loved to use Mohd Rafi's voice 
if he was alive today. He preferred Rafi over Kishore and Mukesh that clearly 
indicates ARR's choice of softer voice.
