“Indian music has grown in stature last year. We have won awards globally, we
have tied up with exciting international artists and the West looks at us like
a country with a wealth of talent. We have to just build on the hard work that
we have been doing for all these years. We have a great storehouse of talent.
The music created in the past year by everyone only goes to prove that we are
all experimenting and innovating with sounds and science,” Rahman says. The
Mozart of Madras also feels that music across the world is talking about unity.
“There is a confluence of sounds and artists happening to create music across
the world. Creativity and talent is being shared which is a good thing as it
means the world is coming together and thinking about unity,” he says.Rahman
adds, “We only get better with this process and in the world that is being
constantly threatened to be torn apart by racing or terror conflicts, music
playing a unifying force can
really bring harmony. This unity also adds depth to music as the best elements
from different genres and styles of the world are coming together. It is a bond
that will create some of the best music in the coming years.”
