It also reminds me of the song "Yaar Yaar Sivam" from the movie Anbae Sivam. Of course, both are totally different tunes but may be the slowness of the song got me to say that :).
"Naanae Varuvaenae" was the first time i'm heard it in good quality, when I watched the movie. Oh Man, it was haunting for sure. Right from the second the piano note and the organ starts, it takes you to a different world. Such elegant but simple tune and arrangement. Genius AR at his best. I'm also craving to hear it all day along. It was also great to hear the song in the BGM score. There were few scenes where the song is played slowly on Strings. It was AMAZING !!! I think AR himself loved this tune like "Khwaja mere khwaja", which again was used brilliantly in the score of Jodha Akbar.
