The other day I was talking to my brother-in-law and suddenly music became our topic. According to him ARR's music is "something" that is wrapped in glittering paper and opening it would stink. I don't want to take the exact word that he used, here. I was really hurt to hear that comment from him, though I never expressed that. It really made the night a sleepless one and I was astonished to see how deeply I am attached to ARR's music. I realized this pretty late, it seems.
Also, this made me think about the different perceptions that people have regarding music. I tried a little to make him understand about the nuances in ARR's music, but in vain. Eventually I could beat him by asking one simple question. I asked him why ARR's music is scrutinized this much more than any other musician? He was mute to that question...
