Malayalam INDUSTRY is NOT a POOR industry as u think! It can AFFORD the BEST
TECHNICIANS in INDIA, and till the early 2000's, it produced the technically
best films in India including KALAPANI (1996, dubbed into tamil as Sirai
Chalai). Remember, the FIRST INDIAN 3D film was a Malayalam film, which came
in 1984 (My Dear Kuttichathan). Since then malayalam has had three 3d films.

The latest magnum opus film, Pazhassiraja starring Megastar Mammootty was
made at a budget of 33 Crores; and it featured BIGGEST ARTISTS like RESUL
POOKUTTY! Also, Ilayaraja was paid a career HIGH remeration of 1.25 Crore
for his music in the film.
33 Crore is 18 CRORES more than ARR' s latest Tamil release VINNAI THAANDI
VARUVAAYA. So, there is NO question about big films in Malayalam NOT
affording ARR..!! ARR is easily affordable for big productions in Malayalam.
ONly thing is, that compared to Tamil and Telugu, the average number of big
productions is very less in Malayalam.
After Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood, it is Malayalam industry which has
come up with big productions!
