Thanks to you all for sharing your memories. That brought me back to
Daud, after years, maybe more than a decade.

though o bhanwre had became most popular, and zahreela pyar had
attracted quite attention due to its different style of singing and
picturization, and shabba was also liked by many, I personally liked
and still like title song of daud very much, was it by Usha Uthup?,
Ajab daud hai, there is a liveliness in this song, quite earthly song,
practical, lots of lyrics, sudden switches between hindi and punjabi i
guess. it goes more like a story, and it does contain several "social
issues" elements in its lyris that I liked very much in early ARR and
miss a lot nowadays, the type given by Mehboob and PKMishra. Mature
commanding heavy voice of the singer added a weightage to what she is
saying, so it sounded more real. It is more a parody or caricature of
Indian rather human life, the way humans have distorted it to pursue
earthly pleasures, giving up what high objectives god might have had
while making us.

This song always touches me. I often hear it in look and get drowned
in it. I always feel sad that there are not many takers of such songs,
and may be that's the reason, ARR has not given any further song like
that.

thanks.
