(He is special composer of our time and I would like to go further in terms of songs. 'Each song is an unique one of its kind'; this is the benchmark he has set for himself, i think).
In Tamil ==> Roja: No expectations. Revolutionary music! After Gentleman, the expectation was always high for every ARR album. Till Rythm: All songs exceeded the expectations. There was no thought of getting disappointed. Always sure being delighted after listening each album. Then was the time of ARR. You can't even imagine the quality of music listening experience now. IT WAS NEVER BEFORE AND NEVER WILL BE! >From Thenali to Raavanan: In this period, only VTV completely exceeds the expectations. KKS comes close. I would say that VTV is the Romantic album for this generation! Other than these, this was a period of uncertainty for an ARR fan; lot of disappointments; only a hand full of songs has signs of him. I like these: Newyork Nagaram/Maaricham, Parts of Ayutha Ezhuthu and Boys, Vellai Pookal, Undhan Desathin Kural (Swades), Style/Sahara, Kelaamal, Mayiliragae, Baba Kichu :-), Azhagae Sugama, Marudani, Innisai(Varalaru). Endhiran: Surprises in a different way. Songs individually does not completely exceed the expectations but as a whole album, this has a grand sound (can you feel it?). And, this is the first time we are having this kind of music for a Tamil (Rajini+Futuristic Theme+Shankar) commercial movie (if only you can imagine the variety of audience for this high risk combination; the toughest job for any composer). Only the movie will prove whether this is a missed opportunity or not for another revolution in Tamil cinema music. I feel that ARR has given the right cards for this must win game!
