I too very strongly feel it's not upto his sky high standards. When it's AR 
Rahman,there is just no way to avoid unrealistic expectations. His repertoire 
has been consistently "unrealistic" to say the least! I don't think people 
expected a song similar to waka waka, but equally catchy and engaging (actually 
much more). It's a legitimate and natural expectation to have.

I feel his creative freedom was constrained in case of this song by a long list 
of "demands" and "specs" for the song. They should have simply let him compose 
it his way and not try to put their own minds to it. He's not a machine! Nor is 
a song built to a list of specs!

All said and done, it really is ok to fail to meet expectations once in the 
blue moon. It does not take away anything from his greatness. I see no need to 
make an issue about it.

To Rahman I have only one request to make. Please refuse to be a part of any 
project that puts a barrier on creativity or demands a compromise in any form! 
You really don't need to be associated with any such project no matter how big 
or important they are!
