Tim, There are very few places that a "clean" ARS application will contain a server name string. Most should be a generic place holder that the client/server expands as needed.
Things like the following would be good conditions to have a "hard coded string" in ARS objects: DSO objects Active links that push to a "not the current server" from. Table fields that pull data from a "not the current server" form. ( However all of those things are fairly rare in the ARS universe. :) I think all others should be a generic place holder, but I might be missing a place or two in that list. There are various ways to clean an application from these kinds of references. However, my path of choice is to add IP-Name value(s) in the ar.conf file. Do an Export as "server independent" and then import in place back to the server. In theory that cleans up the objects without having to do much work at all. ( The hard part is finding all the "right" values to add as IP-Name settings. ) HTH. -- Carey Matthew Black Remedy Skilled Professional (RSP) ARS = Action Request System(Remedy) Solution = People + Process + Tools Fast, Accurate, Cheap....
