You'll want to use some of the Remedy Set Fields functions to strip off the
last couple of characters. Just do this immediately following your last OLE
action. If you don't this could lead to users getting field length errors on
Save if they already had the maximum amount of text in the field when they
clicked the spell check button. The carriage return is an annoying side effect,
but this has always fixed it for me.

Thank you for the response. Now for the question I guess I should have
asked to begin with. I have spell check working using the 'Basic' method.
I noticed that every time a spell check was run against a text block a hard
return was placed at the end of the text.

"Hello"
Would turn into
"Hello
"
And if you ran it again it turns into
"Hello

"

So on and so forth. How does one remove hard returns from the end of text
once it has been OLE spell checked

I recently implemented spell check and do not have the issues you mentioned.
I used the download from the ftp site referenced in
KM-000000004433 titled "Is there a listing of OLE sample applications
located on the Remedy FTP server, ftp://ftp.remedy.com/pub/ole?"; If you
would like more help, email me directly.

Subject: Spell Check Question

Hello all...I'm needing help with spell checking. I followed the example in
the manual but there are two problems with the example. 1 - it has the word
document visible...I fixed that by changing the parameter to 0 instead of
1...simple enough. 2 - it leaves word open with the field in question
filled in...I am by no means an OLE expert and need some help closing the
word window. Your time and patience is appreciated
