There are other benefits of having one active link instead of two:

- Less active links to list in the admin tool.  We have all seen how long this takes if you have a large system.

- When the form definition changes and the user tool needs to download another version of the .arf and .arv files, these will be smaller.

- Through mid-tier the size of the files transferred to the end user will be smaller.

 

The above will have a very small impact on the system, but your question is based on a very minute performance difference anyway J

I would suspect that the single al would be faster due to the fact that it doesn't need to evaluate the run-if qualification more than once...but you are likely talking about fractions of seconds faster

a question on optimization,
will 1 Active Link with 15 actions ( for example just Change Fields only ) run faster than split into 2 consecutive Active Links with 8 actions and 7 actions?
I have not actually been able to time it, but my guess would be the first option, any ideas?
