Nice.

Malli,

"Run Process" executes a process on your server (i.e. Windows, Unix,
whatever you're running on). There are 3rd-party, and probably some
home-grown applications that will send pages, for example telalert. If you
have such a product, and your Remedy userid on the server has sufficient
privileges to the executable/binary, and you know to execute it from a
command line on the server - syntax, arguments, etc., you can run it from a
Remedy Filter or Escalation. Pager number and/or pin are probably
variable; you'd set a field with appropriate values, then reference the
field in your Run Process command - as arguments.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Send Page". It's not a Notify
Mechanism. If the pagers involved are internet e-mail-addressable, you can
page via their e-mail addresses. You'd use the Email Notify Mechanism,
providing the e-mail address for the pager as User Name.

Each option has advantages and disadvantages. I tend to avoid
3rd-party products and like the new e-mail form for history (AR System
Email Messages). The concern with e-mail-based paging is reliability, but
we really don't have a problem with missed pages.

Subject: Pager Notifications.

:-) Hi list,
:-)
:-)
:-) SLA have 2 notification one is "Email" and the other is "Pager". Email
:-) Notification can be created using "Send Alert or Email" and for pager
we :-) should use "Send Page or Run Process" option to create pager :-)
notification through command line statement to send a page or run an :-)
executable.
:-)
:-) Can you please let me know about the command line statement to be given
:-) in the "Send Page or Run Process" for the pager notification.
:-)
:-) Thanks in advance. :o)
:-)
:-) Thanks
