Tyrone,

We are still running vers 5.1.2, and this might be version specific, but I
have found that the dde.ini file will ONLY execute from:
      C:\Program Files\AR System\Home (our client installation path).

I had several problems until I made sure that this was the dde.ini file and
path that I was making changes to.

Hope this helps.

Also, if you literally did a copy and paste, you'll probably need to update
your path so that it points to the actual location of excel.exe.

Tyrone,
 Make sure you've got a closing square bracket around the first
"excelrecord" tag:

[excelrecord]
Path=c:\excel\excel.exe
Application=excel
Topic=system
Format=TAB
