Hi, Folks:

I have great news. This issue is fixed with a no-name patch. It was
suppose to be included in patch 17, but didn't make it. The issue is
not officially fixed until it is included in a new patch. Tech support
will be escalating this and hope that it will make it in 6.3, patch 18.

Talk at ya later,
Michelle

Yep, that's in my original report to Tech support and in my original
email way below (albeit kind of long)

I'm receiving,
"Record 1 : Required field cannot be reset to a NULL value -- Create
Date (ARERR 326)",
Although I have "Try Fallback Mapping before alerting user" selected,
and although I have a Define Fallback mapping defined.

The fallback appears to work on all other Required fields besides core
fields.

Thanks,
Michelle

Out of curiosity ... You do have your Import Preferences Error Handling
for Bad Records set to use the Fallback value?

Hi, Michiel:

No go.

I uninstalled Admin Tool 6.3, patch 12 and installed Admin Tool 6.3,
patch 17.
I exported data in .csv format and purposely removed the date/time value
from the Create Date column from 2 out of 5 records.
I defined fallback mapping to set Create Date field with $ TIMESTAMP$.
It yields the same error message:
Record 1 : Required field cannot be reset to a NULL value -- Create Date
(ARERR 326)

For grins, I then hardcoded 07/24/2006 10:30:00 as a fallback mapping
value for Create Date.
Same results:
Record 1 : Required field cannot be reset to a NULL value -- Create Date
(ARERR 326)

So, it still doesn't work.

I haven't tested 7.0 yet.

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi, Michiel:

Remedy Tech Support and I are still working this issue.

They've asked me to install ARAdmin 6.3, patch 17. I'll be testing a
data import in a few minutes.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
Michelle

In the release notes there is only one thing that points to Import and
actually it is listed under "Server"
SW00235418 fix memory leak in ARImport

I think you have logged SW00244816 - is this correct? This is still
marked as "Work In Progress". We'll wait, I guess.

Regards,
Michiel
