However, you can not use it to 'reverse engineer' the database as MS Visio 2003 does. See the errors listed underneath.
This is because the ODBC driver does not seem to provide certain details about the columns that Visio uses.
If you set up an ODBC connection to your database (either Oracle or MS SQL) instead of using the AR System ODBC driver you should be fine.

Yes I have the same problem: "invalid column name". What Can I do now? I am selecting the proper ARS ODBC driver but it does not seem to work properly.
Any suggestion?

When I try to do this against any ARSystem table, I get the error invalid
column name. I am using Visio 2003 against ARS 6.3 patch 17 on SQL server
2000. Has anyone seen this and if so, how did you fix it.
Thanks for any responses.

Susan,
There are different editions for Visio. You will need Professional
edition, it is not featured in Standard edition.
See http://www.microsoft.com/office/visio/prodinfo/editions.mspx
They call the feature "Database diagrams with reverse engineering of
any ODBC compliant data source"
Kind regards,
Michiel
