here is the answer from Remedy Support: I'm following up on your issue regarding the Group Name in the Group form.
I researched this issue and found that the application was designed this way because the Support Group Name length can exceed the max field size in the group form. Therefore, the decision was made to use the generated ID. These groups are used for row level only of type "none" and are not exposed in regular use. The name in Long Group Name is intended for Administrators when there is a need to diagnose issues.
