Sara,
Welcome to the fold.
Use a unique index on the field in
question.
For
the auto increment field try creating a form with a character field and an
Integer field. Call the character field AR Form Name and the Integer can be
called count.
Enter
the Schema name of your current form and a count of 0. Now whenever you create a
new request in your current form perform a set fields from the new form and set
your Incremented field with count +1. Don't forget to increment the count field
with a push that does a count +1,
There
are some traps that you may need to set but this is a general
idea.

Subject: help, help, help
1. I want a field to have unique value. How can I restrict the
field from having duplicate values? In other words, Is there any way I can block if the current value entered is already in the database?
2. I want to create an auto generated field. Anytime a ticket is
submitted, the field should be populated automaticlly in increments. In
other word, I want a 'Request ID' kind of field on the form.
Anybody can help me with this please email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED].
I will appreciate it.
Thanks!
Sara
