I second that. The Getting Started and Configuring ARS docs are probably the best places to start if you can't go to class, but definitely class will be very helpful - almost essential. Depending on the version, some have Basic and Advanced development guides that are very helpful.
In a nutshell, building forms is something anyone with an understanding of windows apps and DB structure can learn how to START doing in a day. Learning the workflow takes longer. What I love about it is that the only syntax I have to worry about is SQL.

If you would like to get a copy of the PDF documents for the product, you
can download them from the support site. You will need to use your support
contract id and create an account. Once in the site, you can pull down the
