Title: RE: Server not Starting properly
**
Just an update on this issue for those of you that responded.  I have several instances of Remedy running on one box.  None of them are using PortMapper so I had that set to manual.  It appears that in my particular case that portmapper is still needed to be running despite the fact that the Remedy server is set to a manual port.  As soon as I start portmapper (which strangely isn't a dependency on this service) then Remedy starts fine

Then set the debug value and attempt to start the server.  Something is not working right.  BTW, you did check the ar.cfg file and you are using the proper instance for your dev server?

No question is stupid if you don't know the answer...yes...the SQL server is verified functioning both with Enterprise Manager as well as SQL Analyzer

Next 'stupid' question:

Is SQL Server running?  In other words can you log into the instance that you are using for your dev server?

Have you patched SQL Server 2000 to at least SP3a?

I am getting the following error when trying to start my Remedy server recently.  I'm running SQL Server 2000 on the same hardware as the Remedy server using OS 2003.  The arerror.log file shows no errors...the DB has no errors...this came out of armonitor.log.  This started happening after I built a new dev box....it's happening on multiple instances on the same server
