First issue: ITSM 6 on ARS 7. I know that works. So let's proceed to the real unknown: The CMDB 2.0/ITSM 6 relationship.
The word I heard was that there was no *official* integration between the two, though they may offer a way to do that sometime. But consider the architecture - what's different about CMDB 1.x and 2.0? The CDM. It seems to me that if you're willing to modify (if necessary) your mapping from your ITSM 6 apps to the CMDB 2.0 CDM, and update your interfaces to the CMDB, specifically from the Asset console, I can't think of a reason it could not work. Is it potentially labor intensive? Yes. Is it impossible? I think not. Is it worth the effort? That's up to you. The only potential glitches I see are potential ones with some executables, but I think that could be dealt with. The problem is that I don't know anyone who's actually done it. Is it correct? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Response from "You-Know-Who": Unfortunately I do not have any documentation which verifies that ITSM 6 will work with CMDB 2.0. I have checked the compatibility matrix and we have no official compatibilty for ITSM 6.0 and CMDB 2.0. If and when we receive a statement of compatibility and a whitepaper we will be able to assist with this configuration. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Regards, ii ____________________________________________________________________________ ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at http://www.wwrug.org _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at http://www.wwrug.org
