We are running Windows and MSSQL. We have a location in another state that's setup as our disaster recovery. The database server is online and our production database gets replicated there every hour. The remedy server is turned on but disconnected from the network. For Oracle, if you want real time replication to the DR server, I'd suggest something like shareplex. If the DB is on the same server as remedy then have the server online but the remedy service shut down. Shareplex is what they use at my last job where we had 4 servers replicating to each other. We had 200k+ transactions a day going through there and as long as the link didn't go down, the changes would be there in a matter of seconds.
