thanks for the suggestion, I don't mind being bombarded! it is better than getting no replies. That is what I have done, I have designed a reporting form, on which I can enter the name of the staff and start and end dates.
The problem that I am having now is this:
In the Active Link if i put in Location as Reporting Form, the report does not run at all.
for obvious reasons I do not want to put local, so the only other option is Embedded. Now what happens is that the report runs 6 out of 10 times! and I cannot find any reason or rhyme why the report does not run the other 4 times, click on the button and nothing happens, if I leave any of the parameters out, I get an error message as designed, but apart from that nothing, sometimes the hourglass comes on and then nothing, other times nothing at all.
Any help or suggestions gratefully recieved
