> Remedy uses the OS for determining DST changes

This is true for the server, but there is one library used by the
Mid-Tier and API that needs to be updated. BMC Remedy updated that
library in the AR System 7.0.01 release. The AR System 6.03 release
will be patched as soon before March 2007 as possible (most likely by
January). Released prior to 6.03 are affected, but are not scheduled to
be patched as per the BMC support policy. (i.e. 6.0.1 is a "C-2"
release)

BMC as a company is working on a comprehensive statement about this
issue across all BMC products that should be released soon.

Subject: Re: Time Change - Processes Running Twice

One other thing to bring up ... Since the US is changing the date for
Daylight Saving Time as of 2007 there are OS patches to install.

The switch to DST will occur on March 11 instead of April 1st. The
switch back will occur on November 4th instead of October 28th.

Sun has a patch available now:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-26-102178-1

Microsoft will not have their patch available until December.

The Minimum Java versions to calculate times correctly are:
http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/
JDK 6 Project (beta)
J2SE 5.0 Update 6 or later
J2SE 1.4.2_11 or later
J2SE 1.3.1_18 or later

>From what I have been told Oracle uses Java and Remedy uses the OS for
determining DST changes.
