Hello Joe,

/sbin/portmap is the command on SuSE Linux. From your error it looks like the portmapper is not running.

Take care,

Rick

Anyone knows how to restart the RPC deamon on a Redhat Linux box? The rpcbind -w that I use on Sun doesn't seem to work.. in fact there is no command in the usr/sbin called rpcbind..

I have a Redhat server here where I am getting RPC timeouts and rpcinfo -p returns:
rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error - Connection refused

Any help will be appreciated..

Cheers
