You did use the Installer for the patch, right? The shell script should be in <cmdb install directory>/bin. If not, the installer did not complete correctly and you really need to read those log files it produced.

Subject: CMDB 1.1 patch problem
**
I am attempting to upgrade CMDB 1.1 from unpatched to patch 2. Replacing the files is easy, and done. But when I restart ARSystem, I get an error (see below) complaining that it can't find arcmdbd.sh, which isn't even a file in the installer (arcmdbd is an executable). All perms are set to 777, and nothing shows up in the log file.
HP-UX 11/Oracle
ARS 6.3 patch 13
Anyone seen this before and know how to get around it? The KBs are useless, and Support is still getting their coffee, I guess.
Failure occurred during execl() (ARERR 33)
No such file or directory : /usr/arsystem/cmdb/bin/arcmdbd.sh
(ARNOTE 0)
Server (pid:7238) died with 0.

James, we are now operating on the assumption that the 1.1 base install may not have been complete. We are going to start at the base 1.1 load, which has an installer, and go from there. I don't think either patch 2 or 3 has an installer - the release notes don't reference one.
