Well, I do not use macros anymore and ma not quite clear on how you are running a macro that prompts for a parameter and the firs an active link. You may want to consider converting your code to run an active link that does an Open Window action, popping a dialog box that asks for a parameter value. Then capture that parameter and do another Open window action that pushes the parameter to your dialog.
