Gary,
It's been about a year and a half since I worked on this. I do
remember installing a newer version of Java on my pc and having it
not work, then reinstalling the old version and having it work
again. It is certainly possible that by now there are even newer
versions of Java that do work, which may be what you are seeing. I
also remember that installing the mid-tier patch was a whole lot
easier than testing out different versions of Java.

Julie,
I'm currently using 1.4.2_05 but am unable to recreate the issue. Do
you know if there is another factor in this, for instance versions
past 1.4.1_03 with particular preferences or IE preferences set-up?
Cheers,
Gary

** Gary,
You will need to install Mid-tier patch 1337 for clients with Java
past version 1.4.1_03.

Apparently they have many different versions ranging from 5.5 up to
7. The message is received by all who have tried.
Cheers,
Gary

What version of the explorer is this person using? It probably is
something with the java runtime env that IE uses on his computer..

Hello good people of the ARlist,
I wonder if anyone could possibly assist me. We currently have an
issue whereby one of our customers using our bespoke remedy
application via the Mid-tier is receiving an error message while
going about their usual tasks. The error message they receive is: -
"A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do
you want to abort the script?"
Apparently this happens when they hit the back button amongst other things.
I have found a KB entry on the Microsoft Support site (
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500) and got our customers IT
department to follow the instructions but that did not help.
I'm unable to recreate this issue and am sure it is a problem with
network set-up at our customers end but would love to be able to
point them in the right direction. Has anyone had this issue before
and how did you resolve it?
Some details: -
Windows 2000
ARSystem 5.1.2
Mid-tier Version 5.01.02 patch 1303
Oracle 9i
Our customer says they are using many versions of IE ranging from 5.5 up to 7
Thanks in advance,
Gary.
Regards,
Gary Chapman
