I can not understand how a modern Java based application could be less efficient (CPU and memory) than the bloated C based arystem process, that had become so utterly inefficient in previous releases. Anything requiring GBs of RAM to even start, and vast amounts of CPU to become 'ready', is in need of help. Java isn't an inefficient platform - it's got an old school reputation for being a bit inefficient, but it's the application not the language at fault now-a-days...
