While I haven't used xManager (I use CygWin) the basic instructions are as follows:
On your PC/Local machine start the xHost process (xManager in your case). (Make sure the xHost process is set to allow connections from your server) Connect to the server you are wanting to install the app on (in your case you are using PuTTY to do this) Before running the install make sure you have the DISPLAY environment variable set. It should be set to your PC/Local machine's IP :0.0 (i.e. DISPLAY=192.168.1.101:0.0 ).
