Hi,
The standard setting since 7.6.04 is to have Next-ID-Block-Size: set to
25. You have to reset this to 1 to disable this, but that might have a slight
impact on performance. This can be set in the ar.conf/cfg file or in the Server
Information form on the Configuration tab. If you have Next-ID-Commit: set to
F, it will definitely affect performance on creates. But this defaults to T,
which is ok if you can live with a few missing Request IDs now and then
(typically after filter errors during submit). You can however set the
Next-ID-Block-Size to 1 on a form basis. This is done on the form properties
Basic section.

Mark,
After setting the next id value, did you restart the remedy server? If
not, if the server already had a cache of next id's that it was working with,
it won't go back and figure out what the next id is till it runs out of cache
:)

Hi All,
Have a weird behavior when attempting to set the next id on a form. I
followed the directions and set the nextID to 120400.
update arschema set nextId =120400 where name = ‘customformname’
commit
Then I did a query and confirmed the nextId is 120400. Finally I
created a new record on customformname and got a request id 120208
Not sure what I am doing wrong. On Oracle 12 and AR Server 9.
Thanks
Mark
