Meta-Update now handles BOTH ARS and ServiceNow. Connections can be opened to both server types and unlike data can be migrated between the two systems using all the power of Meta-Update to perform changes. In BMC Remedy, you can use $field$. In Meta-Update, you use $Tag, field$ - where the Tag can be an ARS record, a ServiceNow record, a CSV file record, an SQL record (ARS only), all from as many servers, forms & records as you like. Meta-Update includes a single stepping, breakpoint debugger. You can watch as Meta-Archive queries chains of records and URLs, generates HTML tables, and then outputs the HTML pages. As an example, we have a customer who is using Meta-Archive to generate HTML pages of data including attachments and also setting URLs and some of the main field values in a ServiceNow table. This allows easy grouping and searching of the HTML data. That mod to Meta-Archive was done in under an hour. The building of a form in ServiceNow took much longer 😊 This distribution is considered beta. All previous ARS only scripts should continue to work. There are some ARS features not yet available for ServiceNow. There is also room for new features in the product and the Beta participants can help drive the product. We are developing generalised migration scripts that can be used to move data back and forth between the two systems to keep them in sync.
